Charlene Bond was born and raised in Nashville with her mom as an only child. As early as 4 years old, Charlene became an artist. She drew often as a child, frequently requesting art supplies rather than dolls and toys. She found inspiration in Disney, Looney Tunes, and Pappyland, often pausing her favorite movies to draw the characters and scenes she watched. She first dreamed of becoming a cartoonist, and eventually explored creating her own characters. Throughout childhood, she became known for her artistic skill winning awards for school and community art competitions.
At age 14, little Charlene began her journey in learning technology when her mom gifted her with her very own computer. Charlene quickly set out to teach herself graphic and web design. Soon focusing most of her efforts in the skill. Unfortunately, Charlene slowly gave up her love of drawing and began creating social media graphics and websites for others online.
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Digital Media Communication and Interactive Design, Charlene began a career in marketing working for top Digital Marketing Corporations and brands. She shortly founded her own web design agency, while continuing to work full-time in her corporate career. Charlene eventually left the corporate world to become a full-time entrepreneur, focusing on her Web Design agency. After several years in business, she decided to retire from her role as a web designer to focus on her family and health.
Now after being blessed with a successful career in web design and technology, she’s going back to her first love of character creation and story-telling by writing children’s books. Charlene has a passion and care for the next generation and plans to reach them by writing stories that inspire, nurture, and teach while encouraging a love for reading with relatable characters.
Charlene lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband and puppy (@DallasTheFriendlyDog).
